Hypnotherapy is a form of holistic therapy which utilises the power of hypnosis, to help you to modify your own unconscious thoughts, patterns and ideas in order to achieve your chosen goals.
Imagine in some way being able to disconnect from the stresses, worries and concerns of today. To relax to a state where your subconscious, the automatic and quick thinking part of your mind, can better see and understand the challenges and goals that you wish to achieve. To respond to metaphors, ideas and suggestion to help you to overcome those challenges, to achieve those goals.
This is a small part of what hypnotherapy can offer, and has proven to be effective in assisting with many if not all issues that are helped by psychotherapeutic approaches.

Hypnosis
We use a range of methods to induce hypnosis. The process is simple and completely natural. All through your daily life you dip in and out of a trance state, where your subconscious can take over and do a job for you, saving your conscious the time and effort it would require to achieve the same task.
For example, when a person begins walking it is very much a conscious effort, planning each movement, managing balance and support, preparing for the inevitable fall. Most people, however, walk perfectly fine without any conscious effort whatsoever.
Another good example would be tying shoelaces, spelling your name, stirring a hot drink. These are all things we mostly do without any conscious thought, our unconscious simply jumping in and taking over.
If you think about times you’ve walked or driven any distance, you’ll be familiar with that ‘trance’ state. A state where you’re not really paying attention but at the same time, you’re fully aware. Time passes without notice, maybe longer than you expected usually quite the opposite, an hour later you’re left wondering where the time went.
The state of hypnosis is very much like this, however instead of waiting for an automatic function to step in and create this state, we guide you through achieving this state, where your conscious is occupied and dismissed, your unconscious taking in the ideas, metaphors and suggestions we’ve agreed, for it to process and modify thought patterns, ideas and even physical responses.
Initially we may choose to use a progressive relaxation induction, which allows you to really explore that feeling of relaxation, to bathe in the feeling of complete lack of concern, worry or fear as you begin your hypnotic journey. Often a quicker approach may be used,
